Bordeaux-Style Blends

Every wine buff knows the six permitted “black” (red) grapes of Bordeaux, right? Well, since the 2020 vintage, the Bordeaux Wine Council (CIVB) approved four additional grapes, so now we have to memorize ten varietals! The Southern Okanagan has always done well growing merlot and cabernet sauvignon, but the Best in Class this year was from South Africa, which means that the whole is sometimes better than the sum of their parts.
