White Single Varieties
This year we tasted viognier, moscato, gewürztraminer, Italian vermentino and arneis (also fiano, but from Australia), Argentinian torrontes, and a delight from Ukraine, the sukholymanske (a cross of chardonnay and plavai) a first-time experience for most of the judges. How do you compare all these different wines? We look for balance, typicity and overall deliciousness, and judge accordingly. - Mary Bailley
